Ahead of the 2023 election, politician Tonto Dikeh obtains her father's approval (photos)

In preparation for the upcoming general election in 2023, Nigerian politician and actress Tonto Dikeh has received her father's blessing.

The actress, who is also the ADC's deputy gubernatorial candidate in Rivers State, posted photos of the moment she received her father Chief Sunny Dikeh's blessing on Instagram. Chief Sunny Dikeh is the Onwe of Rumuokuta.

Tonte Ibraye, the party's governorship candidate, announced on his verified Facebook page in June that he has chosen the 37-year-old actress as his running mate.

He wrote,

“After series of consultations with leaders of our party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State and the national level, I’m glad to announce Ambassador Tonto Dikeh as my running mate for the 2023 gubernatorial election in Rivers State.

“We are pleased to welcome her to the #RiversRescueMission2023 as we strive to improve the standard of living for everyone in our dear Rivers State.”

In a video posted to her social media page, Nkechi Blessing called out critics for being double-minded.

According to her, when the country is in crisis, people immediately turn to celebrities to lend their voices to the cause, and now that celebrities have decided to enter politics, the same people are criticizing them.
