Group seeks help to locate family of 8-year-old child trafficked to Cross River from Imo state

Believe-In-God Mandu Chinedu, an 8-year-old boy who was trafficked from Imo State to Cross River State's Akamkpa Local Government Area, wishes to reunite with his parents.


The child was rescued in May 2022 and is currently residing with a non-profit organization in Calabar called the Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, or BRCI.

His mother's name, according to the boy, is Miriam.

Anyone with information about his family's whereabouts should contact the NGO or the Cross River State Commissioner of Police, or BRCI.

"The Child was trafficked by a gang of traffickers in May 2022 to Akamkpa in Cross River State. Please kindly share this link with your contacts in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State and Onitsha in Anambra State. The child who is currently in our our custody gave his mother's name as Miriam."
