Noble Dainge Tamunoateli, a serial online fraudster, was found guilty of impersonating someone else, possessing fake documents, and laundering N14,751,558. He was sentenced to 19 years in prison (Fourteen Million, Seven Hundred and Fifty One Thousand, Five Hundred and Fifty Eight Naira).
Justice Toyin Bolaji Adegoke of the Federal High Court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, passed judgment on him.
The Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, filed 11 counts against Tamunoateli, and on July 19, 2021, he was charged.
He pleaded "not guilty" to the charges and was granted bail.
However, the bail was revoked by the court after investigations revealed that the defendant presented forged medical reports to the court through his counsel, Ewa Okpo Edmund, aka Street Lawyer.
