Residents of the area demanded that the state government disband the security force established by the South East governors in April 2021 with the express purpose of protecting people and property in the area by carrying placards that read, "End Ebubeagu in Igboland."
The protesters demanded the dissolution of the security group on the grounds that they had committed extrajudicial killings on numerous occasions.
Remember how, in July, youths from two local governments in Imo state took to the streets to demand the dismantling of the security forces after some of its members were accused of murdering eight wedding guests?
