Singer, Burna Boy breaks silence after Davido classified him as ‘new cat’

 

The Nigerian Grammy award winner, Burna Boy has reacted amidst the online buzz of him being called a 'new cat' by Davido his colleague in the music industry.

 During an interview with Brut on Thursday 8th June with Davido the 30BG boss he referred to Burna Boy as 'new cat' which many believes it's a term used to refer to an upcoming artist.

 He also said him and Wizkid were the major pioneer of Afrobeat who paved way for it's general recognition. That the likes of Burna Boy,Ayraa Starr,Asake and Rema who he referred as the 'new cats' in the scene.

“Everybody knows that I was one of the first, along with Wizkid, to blow up. It feels good to see the new cats coming up, like Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Asake, and Mayorkun,” he said.

While the term' new cat' was causing a buzz on the internet as the Netizens are saying that there are arrays of stars in the industry.

Burna Boy was unfazed about the whole thing as he shares photos of his record-breaking London concert on his Instagram page. In the caption, he noted that his goal is to leave an impact that will last for eternity.

“Uniting people from all walks of life has always been my dream. London, thank you for making it possible for me at my biggest show to date! Shout out to my family @theuglygram @santandave @popcaanmusic and Stormzy 🚀🔐 We’re Leaving an Impact for Eternity. Love, Damini.” He wrote.

Burna’s post, which fans speculate is a reply to Davido’s “new cat” comment, has further elicited reactions from fans and followers.
